What kind of ceremony and where? |
| |
You can have whatever kind of ceremony you wish – it is your special day. You may want to have it formal, casual, traditional or with some special theme that reflects your personalities and interests. You may choose a small, intimate ceremony, a large formal function or anything in between. |
| |
| You may choose the location – a chapel, function centre, a garden, the beach or a place that has some special significance for you - if it is to be outdoors, have Plan B available in the event of inclement weather! |
| |
| |
| |
| |
Bringing the ceremony together –
you, the words, the music, the symbols |
| |
The content is your choice. When we meet, we discuss the kind of ceremony you envisage – the setting, the words, the music and the readings. We work with you to arrive at a ceremony that reflects your wishes. |
| |
You may like to choose words for the asking, vows and exchange of rings from resources we offer you, or you may like to write your own. The ceremony may include the story of your personal journey to the decision to marry. |
| |
The wording may be secular yet spiritual and you may wish to include some religious aspect in your ceremony. |
| |
In addition to the basic format of the wedding ceremony you may like to consider other rituals including:
-
A candle ceremony
-
A handfasting ceremony
-
Tying the knot
-
A warming of the wedding rings
-
Celtic traditions – the four altars
-
A rose ceremony
-
A sharing of wine ceremony
-
Other objects or actions which have special significance to you and your families
